It is very important that the Government of British Columbia hears from us as well. The BC Government is currently working on a new system of police investigation for our province. We believe that it is of utmost importance that this new system be modeled after a completely civilian force, as it is in Ontario, rather than a civilian-led based force, as in Alberta.

The B.C. Civil Liberties Association and Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs are calling for the release of an RCMP video showing a man who died shortly after being Tasered while into custody in Prince George.
Clayton Alvin Wiley, 33, was arrested on July 21, 2003 for creating a public disturbance. He died at Prince George Regional Hospital on July 22 after having a heart attack.
